At Sunlake, many different options are offered to students who wish to participate in extra curricular and community activities. Sometimes events are held that allow students, staff, and clubs to get together and possibly even earn some community service hours. One event held at Sunlake is Trick or Treat Around the Track, where student clubs are able to setup booths around the running track and hand candy out to younger kids from the community.
Junior Arbina Adhikari attended Trick or Treat Around the Track as she is a member of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) club and was helping out. Arbina explained that FBLA’s booth handed out candy and had a game of tic-tac-toe corn hole setup for the kids to play. Arbina said she enjoyed attending the event, explaining, “I believe this event should happen every year as it is a fun experience for not only the kids that are able to come to the school, play games, and get candy, but also for students and staff who are able to socialize and form bonds with the community.”
It’s important that students and staff participate in events like these. Getting involved with the community paints a great picture, and hey, everyone gets to have a great time!
