This school year has flown by! Already the end of the second quarter, students and teachers are readily preparing for their midterms in the final week of second quarter. Some students are nervous, and some are the opposite; many are prepared and have studied hard to achieve high scores on all their midterms. To help students, teachers have been working hard and trying their best to aid their students with the best knowledge and readiness for their upcoming tests. Through various study tactics and review lessons, teachers have truly help many students get prepared.
Sunlake High School’s English 1 honors, creative writing teacher, and athletic director, Mr. Otruba has had a great past week. He says, “I prepared my creative writing students for finals by making them a study guide that will ultimately prepare them for what to expect on exams.” He is very confident in his students’ success for their exams. “I 100% believe my students are prepared for finals, they will all do very good.” It is imperative that teachers help their students the best they can because they really need support and review from past content they have learned. Through the course of 2 quarters, most students slowly forget the things they learned, making review very important for them. Lastly, as part teacher and part athletic director, Mr. O says, “As the athletic director I also attended numerous athletic events for Sunlake sports.” This is his first year as the Athletic Director and he hopes he can make a difference in the sports side of Sunlake. He explains that he “will do whatever it takes to make all of our teams better than previous years.”
