When asked about winter break, senior Evan Deneault was not excited. Though he was looking forward to celebrating the holidays, he was having a hard time grasping the fact that it was almost 2024. Regarding the upcoming break, Evan said, “…my brain cannot process the fact that it is almost Christmas.” Similar to other students, Evan felt like 2023 flew past and found it hard to believe it was already December. For this reason, Evan was not eager for it to be the New Year. Evan wished he could have more time in the year. Evan furthers this, saying, “Time has gone so fast. It still feels like it’s October.” Now, when Evan returns to school, he will be in his final semester of high school. For plans over break, Evan said “I have literally no idea what I’m going to do,” which is another reason he is not ready to leave school for the time off. However, Evan tried his best to stay busy by playing video games, which challenged him and kept him entertained. He plays many different genres of video games—some where he can take on roles, and others where he can practice his aim. Unfortunately, there is only so much time a person can spend on games without getting bored. Evan deserves the time off and was looking forward to celebrating with his family, but overall he was “…just sad that 2023 is coming to an end.”
