During the week of January 15th, freshmen Ivoryele Smalls had a very busy week. Ivy just got cleared to play soccer because she recently tore her acl. She has been back at club practice for soccer. She is also the Sunlake girls soccer team’s manager. She said, “I play soccer outside of school for Tampa Bay United. I am also involved in the girls soccer team here at school, but I’m coming back from injury so this year has been more of a manager role within the team.” Ivy reflected on highlights from her week and said, “I drove to Miami this weekend to watch my little sister play soccer. It was fun getting to watch her and her team win against a decent team.” Ivy also manages her school work while doing extra curricular during the week. In order to balance her life, she stated, “Honestly I take pretty easy classes, but when I do have homework or just projects to do outside of school, I normally do it before soccer so that way I get it over with before it gets super late. As the school year went on I got a lot better at managing my time.”

Hi, I'm a staffer for the Sunlake yearbook and this is my second year being in yearbook and writing stories. I'm a writer for the yearbook and help write stories that get put in the book and on the school's newspaper.
