Freshman Marie Cartwright had a very fun and exciting week. Her week was filled with school, dance, and hanging out with friends. Marie is a competitive dancer at Karl and DiMarco Dance Studio. Marie has dance three days a week for two to three hours. When Marie was asked why she loves dance she stated “Dance is a place where I can express myself and be surrounded by such supportive people.” On Monday after school Marie went to Starbucks with some friends before going home and doing her math and biology homework. On Tuesday after school, Marie completed her homework before going to Ballet and Hip-Hop that night. On Wednesday she had Acrobatics, Jumps and Turns, and Ballet. She did her homework during her breaks at dance on Wednesday. On Thursday, Marie had dance again but this time she had Contemporary, Jazz, and Musical Theatre. On Friday, Marie could not hang out with her friends because she had dance again as they prepared for their big showcase. Saturday was the big day. It was the day they had been preparing for, for weeks. Marie’s family and friends were finally going to get to see this year’s dances before competition season. Marie had so much fun at the showcase she stated “I’m so proud of everyone, they all did amazing.” Marie cannot wait to finish her second semester of freshman year.
