Recently, one of Sunlake’s many clubs, the Math Honors Society, had an induction ceremony where a vast number of students were accepted. One of the invited students was junior Mustafa Awad, who commented on the induction after the fact. Mustafa explained that new members (including himself) received a certificate and a shirt as welcome gifts for new members. Mustafa noted the event “…was well planned and, more importantly, well executed”, adding that he had massive respect for the club officers who managed everything.”Ms. Camper and the officers made it more than evident that they will go above and beyond,” he said, impressed by how everything went.
Mustafa mentioned he was glad he had joined the club, saying he had originally joined as it would look good on a college application but that he has “…since grown to actually appreciate the club for its positive, friendly environment.” Mustafa said that from his point of view, he believes that others enjoy the club too, also adding that given how the club is quite large with a high membership “…makes me really happy. I believe that it is truly vital that we pursue the field of academics, as it is one of if not the most important ways that we can seek to better ourselves.”
Sunlake has a vast number of after school activities and clubs. It’s great that students have many options when it comes to pursuing their passions and expanding upon core subjects (such as math) that they find interesting!
