On Tuesday, January 30, 2024, the Sunlake Varsity Girls Soccer team lost their game against East Lake High School by a score of 2-3. Sophomore Kylie Hudgins is on the girls’ varsity soccer team and was able to play in the game. When Kylie plays soccer, she feels relaxed and focused. Kylie has a great relationship with everyone on the team and says, “Everyone is very nice, and some have played Club Soccer with me for years, so I already have been friends with these girls for a while. It’s also relieving that these girls know the game of soccer and they all have a lot of common sense on the field.” The whole team is very communicative, and they have very few problems while playing. This is because they all have the same mindset on the field and know what they need to do. One of Kylie’s major goals for her following years at Sunlake is to win states, she also has a goal to become better at the position of Center Back. This is because this is not the position she usually plays. Kylie wants to continue playing soccer in her final years of high school and states, “Soccer is my outlet, and I would enjoy playing for as long as I can. I hope I will get the opportunity to play outside of High School and potentially get a full-ride scholarship to help my family pay for the school I decide to go to.”
