Weeks before Valentine’s Day, Sunlake High School began preparing for their annual flower grams. Flower grams are forms you fill out before Valentine’s Day where you can choose to send a bouquet of flowers to your friends or partners on the special day to show how much you appreciate them. The awesome group that organized this event was Sunlake’s Student Council. Hailey O’Nolan, a junior at Sunlake, is a part of Student Council and helped arrange the flower grams. The whole process took about two weeks through making the notes to delivering them.
They made each set of flowers special by adding details such as hand wrapping them and adding ribbon. Hailey enjoys being a part of the student council because she gets to do events like this. “I love doing flower grams. Seeing the notes couples and friends leave each other really puts a smile on my face,” said Hailey. She has been on student council for three years now and she really enjoys it. She stated, “Being in student council brings me a sense of community at Sunlake and I enjoy planning events and even participating in them too. Seeing everything come together is always worth it.” When they were brainstorming for a new event, the student council came up with the flower gram idea, since then they have been a tradition for three years now.
