During the summer is normally the time students and their families take fun vacations. Makayla Letourneau, an incoming freshman at Sunlake High School previously went on a cruise to the Bahamas, specifically the islands near Nassau with her family from May 24th-28th. The cruise line she went through was Allure of the Seas on Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. She didn’t actually visit Nassau but would love to in the future. She had a lot of fun adventures on this trip where she got to boogie board, zip line over the cruise ship, and eat really good food such as fresh fruit and sea food. She also got to spend a day on the cruise line’s private island, and most importantly spend quality time with her family. Makayla states, “overall, I liked the boogie boarding more than everything else I did, it was nice to do something different and give myself something a little bit more challenging to do.” The reason Makayla went on the cruise was to celebrate her family’s birthdays, claiming that her family has a lot of May birthdays. Makayla’s least favorite part about her trip the anticipation of actually getting to the island because she was so anxious to get there. “I didn’t meet any new or interesting people on the cruise because I was mostly focused on celebrating my family, but in the future, I would like to go back and when or if I do, I would like to make some new friends,” says Makayla.
