Sunlake High School junior Amelia Tineo spent a portion of her summer enjoying her job. Throughout the summer she worked at SOG cafe which she has been working at for a year already. The coffee shop she works at isn’t some random coffee shop. It is special for her because it is her family owned business. The cafe has been open for the past year and a half, and Amelia has been working there helping her parents since it opened. At her job she doesn’t just make coffee but also makes the food items that the cafe has on the menu. She loves making the coffee, but her favorite item on the menu is the avocado toast because, “it is so simple but so good.” Her favorite part of the job is the community around the cafe. Amelia said, “I love the community and constantly seeing lots of familiar faces come in to the cafe.” While working a lot this summer, Amelia still managed to see and spend time with her friends. Amelia said that working a lot didn’t stop her from having, “a great summer.” With the start of a difficult junior year Amelia continues to work there and does not let the school work stop her from going in and enjoying her job by seeing the community all around.
