Summer vacation is often an opportunity for families to take longer vacations than they normally would during the school year. These vacations range from week long cruises to cross country road trips. Junior Sadey Mathis took two vacations this summer- first to a beach in Fort Myers, and then to Orlando the following week. In Fort Myers, Sadey enjoyed time with her sister at the beach. They watched the sunset, played mini golf, went skating, went to the movies, went shopping, and got food.
“My favorite part of my vacation was watching the sunset with my sister,” Sadey said. “It was such a beautiful scene, and it was nice just to spend time with her since we live kind of far from each other.” Sadey traveled to Orlando with her family the next week. They went to the Janet Jackson concert, Disney World, and they spent time at the resort they were staying at.
“I had so much fun,” Sadey said. “My days were so full of fun activities, and I made so many amazing memories.” Two vacations back to back made Sadey’s summer very eventful. Now, the school year has just begun and Sadey shared how she felt going into her junior year. “I felt excited,” Sadey said. “It’s nice to be an upperclassman now, I got all the classes I wanted and I got a majority of them with my friends, so I felt ready for this year, and I was interested to see how it plays out. That being said, I’m going to miss sleeping in!”
