Olivia Cataldo, Senior; got to enjoy her Senior Night this year as a member, and captain, of the Sunlake Girls Golf Team. She stated the event, “was amazing! My coach and teammates created posters, made gift baskets, and we had dinner.” Olivia deserved this night of recognition, being extremely dedicated to the team and sport during her three years participating. “The sport has brought me happiness and I have made many memories while playing it,” Olivia recounted, with the Senior Night being the perfect vessel shine a light on her Sunlake golf journey. Through golf Olivia has learned many things, “I have learned about patience and persistence and to keep moving forward even when things don’t go as planned,” and she has achieved many titles, “during my Sophomore and Junior season, I made Second Team All Conference and for the 2023 season I was awarded the Most Improved Golfer by my coach.” These skills and accomplishments were all appreciated during Olivia’s Senior night by her loved ones and fellow Seahawk golfers, showing her that “my teammates would do anything for me!” With her family and friends all around her Olivia was given a chance to look back on all the memories she had made from golf that had led her to becoming the golf captain, and she was able to admire all the sport had given her. The Senior night put into perspective how Olivia went from picking up the clubs and realizing the sport was for her to helping, “my teammates with skills they need to help improve their game.” With her passion for the sport not only did she become a good golfer but also a good leader that helped all the teammates around her. “I have learned to love the sport and I will continue playing it for the rest of my life,” Olivia finished off expressing about her golf experience.
