The Wrestling Senior night was an special event where all the senior Sunlake wrestlers were highly celebrated for their dedication to the sport. Kirsty More, senior; participated in the senior night festivities, as she has done wrestling at Sunlake since her freshman year. She stated, “my experience [at senior night] was really great, as I was surrounded by everyone whose helped me get to where I am today.” Kirsty said a highlight of her night, “..was having my old teammate, Jazmine, come by and watch me. She is one of the people I’ve looked up to since freshman year.” Kristy went on to speak about her wrestling journey: “I honestly wasn’t going to join wrestling at first and last minute decided to, it was the best decision I’ve ever made.” She loves wrestling as it has gave her so much; from it she gained friends, she learned how to really push herself to her goals, and she learned that if she wants to achieve something she need to put in the necessary amount of effort. The sport has helped Kristy grow in every way. Kristy stated the highest point in her wrestling career was when she placed, “…3rd at states,” and when she became, “the highest state placer in Sunlake history.” Kristy is a fantastic wrestler who had a fantastic senior night that she truly deserved.
