“When the other team gets a goal, to stay focused on the game Nathan says, “I forget about the goal immediately and tell my team to lock in and focus on the game.”

Nathan Knobl says “I would tell someone who is just starting soccer to practice on their own time. I feel like most players don’t practice and put in the extra effort to get better.” (Abigail Walden)

On Tuesday November 8th, Sunlake High Schools boys soccer played against Springstead High School and took home a victory. Sunlake won the game 4-1, starting off the season with a win. Senior Nathan Knobl is the Goalkeeper for Sunlake’s soccer team; his job is to defend the goal from the other team. Nathan has played soccer since he was six years old and now plays varsity in his senior year. Nathan says, “I have a great relationship with my teammates, and I feel like being good friends with them causes them to have more trust in me and everyone on the team.” Nathan looks forward to winning games. Nate’s goal for the season is “to have less than ten goals against, and be under .500 Goals against average (GAA).” As for him and his team together, their goal for the season is, “to going to the finals and win the 6A state championship.” Regarding the teams win on Tuesday, Nate says, “I was happy that we started off the season 1-0, but there’s a lot of games to be played.” When playing games, Nate says, “I enjoy stopping the attackers shot and seeing the look on their faces when they think they’ve scored. Most of the time when we score it doesn’t affect my game plan. I continue to play the same.”
