The first week of school at Sunlake is always a hectic time for both the students and the staff—with everyone figuring out their classes and confusing schedules—but it is also a time for happiness since all the kids are excited and motivated for the start of the new school year. Sophomore Alexandria Schopke said sophomore year was already “…very different from freshman year because now I actually know people.” Schopke then said, “I think I am more focused in my classes now and have genuine interest in them, like my 2D art class that lets me show off my creative side.” She felt like she was finally getting the hang of high school and was excited for the events to come like football games and Homecoming. Alexandria was already more than exhilarated for the new year but the first week of school was the perfect way to start it off.

Hi, my name is Jack and I have been a part of Yearbook/Student Newspaper since my Sophomore year. This year I am an Associate Section Editor, I put stories into the finalized book. Being on this staff team has helped me meet new people and learn about different perspectives, and I am so thankful for everything it has given me. I am very excited for this new timeless book we are creating, and I'm so honored to capture all the different events throughout the year.
