Meghan Wimbley is a sophomore at Sunlake High School, and this is her first year as a part of the yearbook staff. She is interested in photography and journalism. Her experience in sports, specifically on the basketball team, drew her towards her interest sports photography. This year, Meagan hopes to grow her knowledge in sports journalism, which is something she wants to do in the future. The yearbook for the 2023-2024 school year will be one to remember and Meaghan is excited for the theme that the staff and herself will be working on. She is looking forward to contributing her ideas and creativity into the book and says, “Something that I hope that we can include in the yearbook is more of student opinions on things.” Sunlake students are the heart of the yearbook and their point of view on everything is the main focus of it. Meagan wants students to look forward to the theme of this years yearbook, as “it will show a different perspective of events and day to day life in high school.” She is excited to see more student involvement and how it will play a role in putting the book together.
The yearbook staff at Sunlake all, like Meagan, can’t wait to show the rest of the school what they have been working on throughout the entire year. From the previous school year to March of 2024, they will spend many hours, days, weeks, and months to present an amazing final product. Meagan stated “I am excited for this year’s theme” and expressed her goals and ambitions as a part of the staff as the school year progresses. The work being done to make the book is not as easy as it seems, and takes a lot of dedication from not only the staffers, but Sunlake High School has a whole to fill the book with all the experiences and memories throughout the year.
