Alyssa Badal is a rising sophomore who is new to the Sunlake high school yearbook staff team. Alyssa Badal grew up in a small town in Jersey and moved here due to her dad’s work. Alyssa said, “At first I was devasted to leave all my friends I grew up with and was really scared to make new ones.” Alyssa has made so many friends throughout the last year and can’t wait to make new ones at school. When she moved down here, she wanted to try something new, so she joined digital design. She loved it so much that she wanted to get even more involved with school and join yearbook. Alyssa always thought the yearbook team looked really fun while being helpful to the school at the same time. So far, Alyssa is really enjoying yearbook and can’t wait to start helping with the book. As she said, “I love it! it’s just such a fun way to show our creative side and also help with my social skills.” Alyssa is looking forward to start interviewing people she feels she isn’t great with talking to people and she wants to work on it. Alyssa recently became very interested in photography and she would love to pursue that area this year within yearbook. She got into photography right when she moved down here. Alyssa said, “I took so many pictures when I first came down here because New Jersey is so different from here.” Alyssa can see herself pursuing photography after she graduates high school. She said, “by taking yearbook it will give me the opportunity to learn the skills and techniques on how to take the best photos.” Overall, Alyssa is very excited to be included in yearbook this year and can’t wait to see how much she can learn over this year.
