Sunlake offered an amazing experience that was available to all juniors and seniors at the school; on this adventure, students were able to go visit many colleges throughout Florida over a 3-day long field trip. They got to see the campuses, learn about what each school specializes in, and, most of all, get to figure out which school they want to go to in the future. Senior Samantha Barnes loved her experience on the excursion saying, “…we would play games, listen to music, and share jokes. Every night we slept at hotels and shared rooms with one another. It was a very fun trip with lots of goofy moments!” She had fun with her friends while also learning so much about what she wants to do and where she wants to go in her future. Sam described, “There was a lot of helpful information given to us throughout the trip regarding summer classes, greek life, and in general your degree. The large takeaway from the entire trip however was that no matter what college you go to it is extremely important to be involved.” It was the best of both worlds for her, getting to share amazing laughs and memories with her friends over a 3-day long sleepover and figuring out her post-graduation life at the same time. At the end of the trip, the school that stuck out the most to Sam was UCF. “The school was beautiful!” Sam said. “The people were friendly and active, and football makes up a large portion of the school’s spirit.” Sam ended the trip with a new dream school that she fell in love with, which made the field trip more than worth it to her. The college tour was an amazing experience for Sam and many others; she implores anyone to go on it and have a fun yet informative trip.
