Homecoming is one of the most anticipated days of the year at Sunlake. Seahawks come to party and forget about all the stress they’ve gained from the start of the year. Junior Jayda Thomas described her homecoming night as, “…super fun this year. The decorations were top tier and student council did a really good job of making the dance on theme.” She had the opportunity to get with her friends and enjoy a night of memories she will cherish. Jayda then went on to comment on the theme of the dance; “…the lights camera action theme was very creative, and the decorations to go with the theme were very on point. My favorite part of all the decorations was the red carpet by the photographer.” Another thing that Jayda heavily admired was the arrangement of food at the dance. “The Auntie Annie’s pretzels and Cuban sliders at the dance is what made the night perfect. It was the perfect night accompanied by the perfect food choices,” she explained. Jayda also stated, “…the only thing about Homecoming I would change is the music. It was pretty good but they played the songs for too long and didn’t play enough different genres of music.” She felt that the music seemed repetitive and lacked a variety of genres. With the food, theme, and overall atmosphere of the dance, Jayda and the rest of the students at Sunlake adored Homecoming and will remember it for years to come.
