Each week at Sunlake brought new experiences and events for all the student Seahawks. During the pumpkin-spiced filled month of October, junior Joseph Kieu (right) got to participate in a very fun meeting of the Sunlake Car Club. During this meeting they got to “…carve pumpkins and then drive over them with my car, to get us into the Halloween spirit.” Joey stated how he loved the atmosphere of the meeting as “…it was so exciting to have fun with all my peers, and everyone made me feel so welcomed even though it was my first meeting.” The whole club felt like a big friend group where everyone liked each other and everyone could share their love for cars. Joseph went on to explain what the club does for all the students involved in it: “it informs you on car skills you will need in the future, it is a fun but effective way to learn about automobiles.” Ultimately Joey’s experience at the first meeting is what led him to stay in the club. He said, “it helped me get into the holiday spirit by carving pumpkins, it helped me get out my rage but getting to run the pumpkin over, and it taught me more about my car and the way it works. The most perfect first meeting I could picture.”
