During this year, Sunlake’s World Class Colorguard has the opportunity to visit Dayton, Ohio and compete their sport on a national scale. To be able to do this the team had to fundraise money in multiple different fashions. Selling Pura Vida Bracelets was one technique they used to raise some cash. Senior Emma Luginbuehl, a member of the guard, explained how they, “…sold the bracelets for ten dollars each with all of the proceeds helping our team to go to Dayton. This would be so important to the whole team as we wanna show the whole country what we are capable of.” Emma then went on to explain how successful the fundraiser was, with having lots of sales and raining in lots of money. She stated, “I created a brand new spiel for each costumer I tried to sell too. I made sure to keep things new and exciting, instead of reading the same old lines to each person I came across.” Emma is very excited for her team’s Dayton trip as it has been her dream to go ever since she joined Colorguard. She wants to, “…thank all of the people who bought bracelets as it has allowed me and my team to go on a trip of a lifetime.”
