The boys soccer senior night was a night of success. Justin says, “That night, I was excited and happy because it was our night as seniors to play one last game with each other.” A ceremony celebrating the seniors took place before the game began. Walking down the field, Justin “…felt great, because I could see all of my teammates cheering for me. My family and some friends came out to support me, and that was really special.” All of the senior players were starters in the game, which was a significant moment for them. The boys won 6-0, with Justin playing midfield. He explains that the night was also bittersweet, because “…I started Sunlake soccer freshmen year, and knowing it was my last home game, I knew I was gonna miss it.”
Justin explains, “I’ve been playing soccer for 14 years. I just love everything about the sport: playing with friends, winning games and championships and the enjoyment I have every time I play. The passion and the love I have for the sport gives me the motivation to keep on playing and to always work hard.” He’s been on Sunlake’s team for the past 4 years. His favorite thing about Sunlake soccer is “…having fun and getting to spend time with friends. Also the fact that our team is really great, we’re undefeated.” When his senior year started, Justin “…realized, like wow, I’m already a senior and this is my last year of high school. Time went by so fast.” Justin is in the process of committing to play at the next level. He wants to thank his teammates “…for all the time we got to spend together and all of the funny moments we all had on and off the field.” He’s had a really great time playing a sport he loves.
