Summer is the coveted time of year for fun and relaxation, as students get their much needed break from school. From vacations to camps, each student has their own unique summer. Some Seahawks use this period as an opportunity to get a job to start saving up money. Upcoming Junior, Keely Fink took advantage of the free time and got hired at the retail store, Tillys. Keely said that from her job she, “learned better social skills… you have to walk up to people and start conversations.” She learned that as an employee she needed to connect with the customers to ensure they had the most beneficial experience at the store. Getting her first job changed her outlook on responsibility as well, “because the customers really depend on you, I always have to make sure I’m aware of how I act and what I say to make their shopping experience is the best it can be.” Like any newcomer t0 having a job, it took Keely some getting used to, but she quickly grew to love the Tilly’s work environment, especially “having full access to so many cute clothes,” Overall, Keely enjoys her experiences at her job and is thankful for all the life skills she is learning from working there.
