Maggie Chauncy is a Senior at Sunlake who loves the outdoors and existing in nature. Being out in the sun with the fresh air, beautiful scenery, and lively landscapes is what she lives for. She especially enjoys going mountain biking with her dad. She had the chance to go on the, “trail we call ‘the measuring stick’, which is in Eastern Kentucky,” over the summer. “We were not as prepared for the ride as we would’ve liked to be, but it was still super fun, and it was exciting to see how good we still were able to do,” she stated about her family’s biking experience. Maggie has always loved the, “thrill and adventure of mountain biking. It pushes my skills in extreme ways but it’s also super fun and beautiful.” With her lifelong connection to biking- picking it up at the ripe age of 4, and learning to mountain bike at age 12- she knew it would an extreme sport she could easily connect with. Maggie’s dad was the person who taught her everything she knew about biking and lead her to falling in love with, “the adventure, the beauty, the challenge,” of it but, “the time spent with my adventure buddy, my dad,” is what really made her appreciate her mountain biking excursions. Overall, her biking trip in Kentucky was an eventful one, as she got to see and take a picture with a waterfall and got her biking skills renewed again; it was Maggie’s perfect day in nature.
