Each year in Mrs. Noffsinger’s AP World History class, a fun project commences in which the students have a historical figure chosen for them to do a small caricature and analysis on. Mrs. Noffsinger explained how, “…the assignment is an enjoyable way to learn about influential people in history; the individuals ranging from philosophers to emperors.” After all the analyses were created, the students were able to go speed date everyone in their class, giving them the ability to “…learn about everyone else’s figure and show everyone else what they had learned about their own historical character.” Mrs. Noffsinger explained all the positives of this project; “…it gives the kids an opportunity to collaborate together, show their creativity, and presents them with an engaging way to learn.” Mrs. Noffsinger takes every chance she can to have fun in the classroom by doing games and projects instead of sticking to lectures and worksheets. She believes the students will learn more if they enjoy what they are getting taught. She is excited for the rest of the year and is hoping “…the kids will learn how to think historically and analytically in my class and will gain research and writing skills that will help them in other classes and ultimately college…” by the end of the school year.

Mrs. Noffsinger showing off all her students completed assignments. She is proud of the work all the student did. The little figures help to make an informative, colorful board outside of Mrs. Noffsinger’s classroom.
