For junior Remi Garcia, on a Saturday afternoon instead of relaxing, he spent the evening giving out candy and smiles and trick or treat around the track, one of sun lakes most festive and fun fall events. Representing the Black Student Union also known for BSU, Remi and his club were dressed as bunnies and helped bring fun and spirit to the track, where local kids and families came dressed in cool and colorful costumes for a fun day of treats and games.
“This was our very first club event”, Remi explained, “and we needed as many people as we could get for this event.” For Black student Union, it was more than just a night of handing out candy it was a chance to show teamwork, involvement, and their club spirit.

At their stand BSU did not just pass out candy they also set up a creative activity for the kids. “Our stand passed out candy t the kids,” Remi said, “but we also had an activity where kids picked a sticker page and could decorate it.”
Even with the busy crowd and excitement, Remi said the best part wasn’t just the candy or the costumes instead it was the company. “My favorite thing was hanging out with the club members and passing out candy with them,” He shared. “Seeing all the fun and cool costumes the kids were wearing made it even better.”
The event was a success not only for the community but also for BSU. For Remi and his club, Trick or treat around the track was more than just a Halloween celebration, it was a reminder that teamwork, creativity, and community can make any event special.
