On November 4th, 2025, Sunlakes varsity Soccer team had a great start to their season as they won 5-0 against Lecanto high school. Ricky Kase a senior on the Sunlake soccer team was very happy with this along with the rest of the team. Ricky has been playing soccer since he was a kid, and this will be his fourth and final year playing for the Sunlake Soccer team. Ricky said, “I am very excited to play my senior year of high school soccer.” as well as “looking forward to seeing this new team grow as a group and individuals throughout each game.” To prepare for the Soccer game Ricky and his teammates were getting hype in the locker room listening to music on the speaker while drinking an energy drink to wake up. Then soon before the game started the soccer team headed to the field to stretch and warm up. Starting off the game was a little rough as Ricky said, “The first 15-20 minutes we weren’t playing our best and made a lot of mistakes.” but the team expected this because it was their first game of the season and they pushed through it. When the game started to pick up Ricky had an assist to one of the goals in the first half and then scored a goal in the beginning of the second half. In the end Sunlake pushed through that rough stage at the beginning and came out on top. Throughout the season the team will continue to work on rebuilding chemistry and bonds, which will take a lot of work and effort since the team is completely different from the previous year as the team lost many seniors and gained current juniors. However, Ricky explains how, “This team has a lot of passion and hard work, no game is complete until the whistle blows with this team.”
