Camila Galindez is a name that everyone should know. Being only a sophomore in the class of 2028, she has created amazing moments and clips this year. Against Indian Rocks Christian High School, Camila was unstoppable. Every shot, every pass, and every time she stepped out on the field was filled with action and brilliance. When asked about her warm up routine, Camila answered that her “warm ups are all about getting ready. Not just physically, like doing a good stretch and good shots before a game but to mentally prepare and focus. I love listening to music because it helps me get ready while also having fun and the more fun I have during warm ups, the better I do.” Well whatever she’s doing is working because she scored a goal against the Indian Rocks team. The moment that the ball flew into the net, her teammates ran up to her with loud cheers and proud smiles. Everyone surrounded her, chanting her name loudly and the other players went absolutely wild. “It feels amazing to get a goal and to have all your teammates run to you and celebrate. Definitely one of the best moments because you feel so much excitement and feel like you finally worked really hard and you get the good results,” Camila explained. From the parents in the bleachers to the players on and off the field, anyone could feel how special the moment was. Camila was asked about how she felt the game went and she said that “the game went really well with a result of a 4-0 win. We did a really good job on communicating and passing around really playing as a team and having fun. We ended with good results because of that.” For Camila, being a part of the Sunlake soccer team is not just a sport, not just an extracurricular, but a community and a second family. “I love being on Sunlake’s varsity, it’s one of the best experiences because I have some of my best friends here and I always get excited to come out and play with these girls because each one is so amazing. It’s overall a really great environment to be in and grow in. My favorite part of the team is that we are so united and I’ve met some amazing people and gotten to learn from some of the older girls and coaches.” It’s no surprise that Camila Galindez has so much potential; It’s because she has so much talent.
