Junior Zaid Saleh is a dedicated member of Key Club for three years. He had join Key Club freshman year because he enjoys helping people and what to be part of something that makes a difference. Over time Zaid’s commitment and leadership led him to become the Fundraising Committee Chair, where help helps organize events that support meaningful causes and bring students together.
One is Zaid’s favorite Key Club events is Trick or Treat Around the Track, a project that brings together the school and the community together in a way that is both meaningful but also fun. For Zaid, events like this show how service can be impactful while still being enjoyable. “It’s cool to see how something simple can make people happy and bring everyone together,” he said.
Being part of Key Club has help Zaid grow into a better person. Through volunteering has has had a chance to help both younger and older member of the community, which ha strengthened his sense of empathy and responsibility. He has been able to learned how is work apart of a large team instead of doing something on his own. These experiences have taught him skills that extend beyond school. “Key club teaches you how to work in real-life situations, not just in a classroom,” Zaid shared.
Zaid believes service is important because it prepares students for the real world, while allowing them to give back. He also feels Key Club leaves a lasting impact on the school by creating projects such as painting murals that leave behind a positive images people admire and needed.
For Zaid Saleh, Key Club is more than just a club. It is a place where service, leadership, teamwork come together to create meaningful changes.
