On December 4th, 2025, Sunlake High School held their first Mu Alpha Theta meeting for this year! Lexi Cshuhai; Junior, speaks about her experience and what this club is all about. First off, what is Mu Alpha Theta club, well, “..it gets everyone to connect together through math, and play fun math games to refresh our heads about old topics.” said Lexi. The club is ran by Mrs. Camper, a math teacher at Sunlake High School, she is described to be an amazing math teacher, who has brilliant teaching mechanisms. According to Lexi, they just held their AMC math test competition, which is a difficult test to pass, which only a few of the students in the club take to see if they can participate in competing against other schools in the area. If you join the club and don’t compete, you can still make a difference! You get the opportunity to show up to the competitions to show support to those who are competing and than you can also tutor algebra one kids as well to help them out. The math club can also help you out too, they do some ACT and SAT prep, so you can be prepared for those major tests, and before the AMC test, they did some preparations for that as well. One thing Lexi mentioned is that they hold leadership opportunities yearly, she stated that she was the secretary this year, and next year she plans on running for presidency. One thing that is very interesting to Lexi is that she states, “We haven’t had a guest speaker yet, but I have been looking into asking someone to come and speak at our meetings.” She takes a lot of action with this club and that is amazing! If you ever are looking for help with math, or love the subject don’t be afraid to ask this club for help to join or get tutored! Thank you Lexi, for all you contributions to this club and for speaking on this matter!
