During the basketball season at Sunlake High School all the player are spending their time practicing and working on their skill together to ensure victory against opposing teams. Every week another game is played, and more players feel confident in their work. At these games there’s Vincent Soldano, a sophomore ready to play. He is jersey number 4, and says “I usually play point guard” adding that he enjoys this position due to the jobs that come with it of passing the ball, blocking, and more, while also doing his favorite move of In and Out cross. His favorite part of being in basketball is being in the game. His says that his strongest skill on the court is his IQ, and ability to read the movements of the people. Vincent feels that the most rewarding thing of being a basketball player is being able to learn a lot about growing as a person himself and being able to mature. His personal goal this season is to reach a healthy point with his body, improve his ball handle, and “become a better athlete,” he hopes his goals will help him reach the varsity team. In addition Vincent wants to win the district finals, and the state finals, making sure that his pre-game ritual of “stay away from distractions and meditating,” which will hopefully help him meet his goals throughout the rest of the season.

Vincent Soldano has been playing Basketball for over 13 years, the second he started playing it, he instantly fell in love with the sport. He says that his motivation for improvement is “My future, family, friends, and people I’ve lost on the way.” He keeps this motivations in mind throughout the season “reminding myself what I want out of it and why I play.” When asked about his teams chemistry, he responds with “Our teams’ chemistry is decent, it had a lot of ups and downs” but adds that his favorite team memory is their last game or beating Land O’ Lakes. This team is more then just a team for Vincent, he says “The fact that I got to play under Coach D Rob, who’s been like a dad to me was a big part of this years experience.
