Key Club is one of the largest clubs at Sunlake High School and in this club they aim towards gathering opportunities for the students of Sunlake to gain volunteer hours. In their January meeting the club gathered to give updates on what is new for the second semester of the school year. This semester the club will aim their focus on increasing hours that people can volunteer and creating more projects and events for members of the club. In this meeting, they also held elections for club officers for the following school year.
Freshman, Olivia Malloy ran for advertiser for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. To gain this spot, she had to present a speech to the members of the club about why she should become the upcoming advertiser. She said that this experience, at first, was “…very nerve wracking, because you’re so focused on what people think. It kind of gets into your head. But, overall the process went very smoothly and it was pretty easy.” Olivia’s well planned speech and strong points earned her the spot as advertiser for the upcoming year as just a freshman!
