Alexis Keith and Jacob Domenech are two juniors who went to experience this year’s Homecoming together. The two of them have been together for three years, as long as they’ve been enrolled here at Sunlake! They both had fun with each other at the dance, with their night being a textbook example of a typical homecoming dance. 

The idea of how to ask out Jacob came to Alexis from her friend, who had asked her own boyfriend out. Alexis decided to ask him using a sign that she would hold up to him. When she went to pop the question, however, Alexis said that “[Jacob] thought it was funny… since he was planning on asking me to homecoming with the exact same sign.” Having been together for so long, it makes sense that they both would have similar ideas and preferences when it comes to picking things out for their partner. 

Before the dance, Alexis and Jacob’s families gathered to take pictures. Both Jacob and Alexis looked stunning in their outfits as they took pictures and prepared to arrive at the dance. Once at Homecoming, Alexis and Jacob spent their time walking around the open parts of the school, chatting with friends, jamming to the music in the gym, and enjoying the food in the cafeteria. Their night was run-of-the-mill when it came to most Homecomings, but they both enjoyed their time, nonetheless. 

There wasn’t any post-homecoming hangout either as it was getting late, but the two still enjoyed their night at the dance. The purpose of homecoming is to spend time partying with friends and loved ones. Even though Alexis considered homecoming to be a bit uneventful, she and Jacob still had fun in each other’s company, and that’s all that matters in the end. Here’s to hoping that future homecomings can keep that feeling of togetherness alive.
