This week was nothing short of eventful for senior Ishita Jain, who experienced a whirlwind of learning, achievement, and personal growth. From gaining her CPR certification to being nominated for Outstanding Senior, Ishita’s week was packed with moments that tested her skills, discipline, and leadership.
“The best part of my week was gaining hands-on CPR training and getting certified for it through my nursing class,” Ishita shared. Although she had practiced CPR before, this training stood out to her as more realistic and intense. “It helped me see how critical thinking and calm decision-making are so important in an emergency. After the training, I felt more confident and capable.”
Balancing her busy schedule, however, wasn’t easy. Ishita admitted that managing her workload while staying focused in class was the hardest part of her week. “It was easy to feel overwhelmed with everything going on,” she said. “I had to really manage my time effectively and stay organized.” Despite the challenges, her commitment paid off, especially when she was surprised by a nomination from her peers. “Something surprising that happened to me this week was being nominated for Outstanding Senior,” Ishita said. “I wasn’t expecting it at all, but it truly meant a lot to me.”
When she wasn’t studying or completing assignments, Ishita spent time with her friends in class, offering help and encouragement to others. One of her proudest moments was teaching juniors new clinical techniques in her Nursing Assistant class, including how to properly change linens on an occupied bed.
Outside of nursing, Ishita also pushed herself academically. “I’m proud of myself for dedicating more time to studying for my classes, especially AP Chemistry,” she said, noting that while the subject is tough, her extra effort is beginning to pay off, even if she wishes her latest quiz had gone a bit better.
If Ishita could describe her week in one word, it would be ‘eventful’. “I studied a lot, taught others, got certified in CPR, and was nominated for Outstanding Senior. It was definitely a week full of challenges and moments I won’t forget.”
