On 11/14/25, the National Honors Society held a meeting to discuss the blood drive as well as a cereal drive, encouraging members to bring one cereal box each. NHS members were previously asked to get people to sign up for the blood drive and this meeting was made to check on their progress. According to Tanner, a member present during the meeting, “There were prizes for the people who got the most amount of people to donate.” National Honors Society Volunteers would usually go around lunch time to ask students if they wanted to donate.
Of the students that volunteered, There were three that stuck out as the most successful. Tanner said, “One person got first…” “And I think like 3 people tied for second.” The unusually large number of volunteers earning second place reflects the determination and consistency of the National Honor Society. Members spent days reaching out to other students. In total, around twenty NHS students took part in the push to find people willing to donate.

The photo above shows the massive amount of cereal the National Honors Society managed to collect from it’s members. A large majority of students donated to the cause, as members who did would also receive more community service hours. Every single box was sent out to those who needed it.
Tanner added, “I had a friend who donated ten.” This alone shows their determination do as much as they can to help their community. That goes for Tanner’s friend as well as NHS as a whole. The National Honors Society is no stranger to these charitable campaigns. Every single year they hold these two drives and are remarkably successful.
