Thanksgiving break is a short period of time that each student from Sunlake high school eagerly looks forward to; having an extended break and having the opportunity to make time for yourself and family. Thanksgiving itself became a national holiday under Lincoln during the civil war to foster unity, and to this day this holiday is still practiced; in giving thanks, expressing gratitude for blessings and community, and spending quality time with your loved ones.

Sophomore Taylor Klus how her Thanksgiving break was, she states that “it was very enjoyable,” she spent time with her family, going out to a family dinner and to see a movie. She enjoys watching and listening to musicals, so she naturally went to go see the movie Wicked with her mother and her little sister. People who really enjoy a certain franchise often dress up to go see a movie, like cosplaying and such, and Taylor herself wore a “Wicked shirt”, and decided not to cosplay because it’d be more comfortable and convenient. Not only did Taylor go to see Wicked, she also stated that she and her family watched the first part of stranger things, season 5.
On the day of Thanksgiving, Taylor and her family cooked up a massive, delicious feast; They cooked up some “turkey, ham, mac and cheese, corn on the cob, broccoli, rolls, cranberry juice, deviled eggs,” and so much more delectable food. Taylor, herself says that she is “thankful for her family who are always there for her and super supportive, especially when it comes to school, and especially thankful for her little sister who is literally her best friend,” and “obviously thankful for her friends.”
