Anna and her boyfriend hanging out the week before winter break, covered in paint and having fun!
The week leading up to winter break is often one of the busiest times of the school year, and for Anna Connett; , it was no exception. With major exams, daily responsibilities, and athletic commitments, the week brought both challenges and rewarding moments.
At the start of the week, Anna felt overwhelmed due to the pressure of finals, especially with two of her biggest exams taking place. Studying and preparing added stress, but as the days went on, “…the workload became more manageable.” Teachers focused on assignments that helped improve grades, and the overall atmosphere at school began to feel lighter and more relaxed.
Friday stood out as the best part of the week. With fewer students in attendance, classes felt more laid-back and enjoyable. Anna loved spending time with “…friends, played games in class…”, and enjoyed the positive energy shared by students who were excited for winter break to begin.
One of the most challenging moments of the week was Anna’s biology exam. “…Biology is not my strongest subject, and the test was difficult, but I was relieved and proud to have passed!..” A major highlight came when Anna learned she earned an A on her law studies exam, an achievement she had worked very hard for after weeks of studying.
Outside the classroom, Anna returned to track conditioning after taking a two-week break following cross country season. “…Adjusting to six days of practice per week has been tough…” she states, but, she is “…slowly getting back into her routine.”
Anna shared that her boyfriend had the biggest positive impact on her week by “…helping me study and keeping my spirits up during stressful moments…” She also learned about the four stages of mitosis—prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase in biology class.
Looking ahead, Anna is most excited about finally being able to sleep in, something she “….rarely gets to do due to early practices and work…”After a demanding week, winter break is a well-earned reward.
