If this week had a theme, it would absolutely be: Guava Cream Cheese Pastry. For Mr. Huskey the highlight of the school week came during 2nd period on Thursday when he had what he described as a “heavenly” guava cream cheese pastry. Some people measure their weeks in accomplishments Mr. Huskey measures his in pastries.

In the classroom, Mr. Huskey standout moment was the classic teacher victory: when a struggling student finally “gets it.” Not necessarily the lesson itself, but the realization that he’s waiting for them to be quiet so he can talk. It’s those small breakthroughs that make him believe the future will be okay.

After the last bell rings, you might think Mr. Huskey heads straight to social media to check Instagram or TikTok. Not quite. In reality, he unwinds with a bit of Candy Crush nowhere near level 714,321.

Evenings are spent relaxing at home with his wife and kids. Sometimes that means everyone sitting together while watching completely different things on their own devices modern family bonding at its finest. He and his wife enjoy sending each other dream retirement homes in Japan from across the same room.

Outside of school, Mr. Huskey keeps busy with his passion for DJing, making remixes, searching for new music, and even traveling to Melbourne, Florida, to perform. But the best moment of the week? When his daughter made him a Yoda with a lightsaber out of beads. That one easily tops the list.
