During the week February 16-20th, Teacher, Coach Finan had a very busy week that was filled with a lot of excitement. Coach Finan is known for her energy, organization, and constant encouragement, she balances her life as both a teacher and a coach with dedication that inspires her students every day. If you stop by Coach Finan’s classroom on a Monday morning, chances are she already has a to-do list written out and a plan for the entire week. “Mondays are my busiest days because I’m trying to prepare for the rest of the week, ” she explains. Between lesson planning, answering emails, meeting with students, and coordinating athletic responsibilities, Mondays set the pace. Its not always glamorous, sometimes its paperwork, logistics, and quick lunches at her desk, but it keeps everything running smoothly. When asked to describe her week in three words, she quicky answers saying, “Soccer, chaos, and nonstop.” And that feels accurate. Practices, games, school events, and everyday classroom responsibilities, often overlap. There are schedule changes, last-minute adjustments, and plenty of multitasking. She still handles with a steady energy and good attitude. Despite the busy schedule the best parts of her week are easy to identify. “My favorite part of my week last week was getting to support our Seahawks girls basketball team battle it out at their regional semi-finals game and also organizing our spirit bus for the state final 4 boys soccer game. Sounds like work, but I really love supporting our students!!” For Coach Finan showing up matters. Whether she’s in the classroom teaching or in the stands cheering, she wants students to know she’s there for them. The week may feel nonstop, and there may be a little chaos along the way, but her commitment stays the same.
