In November of 2025, the girls weightlifting team had a meet. Morgan Mcnally, a sophomore at Sunlake High School, participated in the meet. Morgan was inspired to start weightlifting because she wanted to do something different, “I had just become a black belt in Taekwondo, and I wanted to keep up with my strength,” she stated. She knew in her freshman year of highschool she wanted to be apart of something big. The coach for weightlifting is coach Hodros, he plays a big role through the process of Morgan and her team getting better yearly, “Hodros is making me who I am today in this sport. I couldn’t thank him enough for believing in me and our team, he is always pushing us to do great things, and he motivates us to do better everyday. Thank you.” Throughout her two years of highschool, she’s accomplished getting new personal records, placing third place in TRAD and OLY in districts. Morgan balances school, work, and training because she wants to make her parents proud and she wants them to know that, “…They’re my biggest supporters through everything. I don’t want them to watch me fail, even though they’re supportive over anything I do.” Morgan does have a routine if some training days get a little too challenging for her body, she gets food, drinks a protein shake, use a heating pad or ice, and she makes sure she gets plenty of rest to feel rested for meets or training days. You can tell Morgan is very devoted and gets a lot of her motivation from herself, her family, her team, and coach Hodros. She’s doing amazing accomplishments for being a sophomore and you can tell she’s going to achieve so many more accomplishments as the time passes.
