On January 10th, the Hawkeye team held a meeting, it lasted about thirty minutes. A Junior involved in the club, Kalista Sprague is here to tell us all about it. First off, this meeting’s main focus was to talk about the upcoming pep rally, which was the neon pep rally. Coach Finan, which is the Hawkeye sponsor, and senior, Ian Laari, the president of the club, led their conversation. They also talked about what supplies needed for the pep rally, what students should be wearing, briefly spoke about interviews for new officers, and how to get students to bring the Sunlake spirit. “We came up with some new ideas on how to get students more interested and excited about our school sports. I think that meeting with Hawkeye impacts our overall mission on projects because it sets a foundation and standard for our mission: school spirit.” Kalista stated. During this meeting they did make some decisions, for example, the method on inciting school spirit within the club and their student body, on games for our Sunlake athletes, and some things that were featured in the pep rally, like the black lights. When members can’t make it to the meeting, they communicate with them through text by giving a rundown of what happened during the meeting. The Hawkeye club gets a general positive attitude during all their meetings, they want people to feel welcomed, and the Hawkeye club is a very welcoming community. They mainly all make decisions together and introduce new ideas and new members always. Hawkeye’s goal will always remain to enhance the school spirt and positivity.
