Adrienne Martin, a senior on the girls basketball team, who is a switch position player. She plays whatever the team needs in the moment, but “I am on the taller side, so I usually guard posts, but on offense I usually play as the shooting guard.” Adrienne said. During the game on January 20th, Adrienne said how that her body did get pushed to her own limits because she had to guard the opponents tallest player, Holy Names. She also scored points during the game, “I can’t exactly remember how many, but I probably hit a 3-pointer.” One thing that is intriguing is how good the team works together, they all put in time to work together and they get better together, they struggle together, and they succeed together. When Adrienne said that, it was really moving, the way she worded it was beautiful. Coach Pledge, who is the coach of the girls basketball team, motivates all the girls by telling them what they’ve got. “She tells us

nobody can guard us and that we need to play as such.” Adrienne did mention that one of her favorite plays is when the ball makes a full rotation around the court into a wide open shot. Fortunately, she has obtained no injuries during this season. Overall, it seems like Adrienne is having a really good run during her last year on the basketball team, she’s staying positive and not giving up. You can tell the amount of support she gets from Coach Pledge, her teammates, her family, etc. Her, along with everyone else gets support and motivation for them to play the absolute best that they can. Keep up the amazing work seahawks!
