I am a 2021-23 staffer for Sunlake High School yearbook The Talon. I like reading, playing sports, and going on road trips.

Junior Abigail Williams helped out at the Rec Center this Saturday with the NAHS. She was able to hang out with friends and face-paint kids with her art skills. She says, "I’ve actually been able to bond with my friends and family while volunteering, because when they come volunteer with me, we can still have a fun time together."

Since the NAHS has just started back up, senior Felix Nguyen has a lot of work to do as the president to get the club back up and running. He says, "[I] wanted to build a stronger community surrounding art at Sunlake, in which people can talk and get advice throughout their art process."

Sophomore Elephteria (Ella) Somerville started weightlifting this year for Sunlake, and it is added to the list of her sports hobbies. She says, "I enjoy doing my hobby with many of my friends, who are all very athletic and very fun to be around."

In his last year at Sunlake, senior Matthew Santos plans on joining the Air Force or an airline in the future. One thing he wishes to accomplish is to "become a pilot and to eventually start working on a doctorate in medicine."

For New Year's, seniors Gabriella Paul and her boyfriend Nicholas Soler went to Gatlinburg, Tennessee with Nick's family. Gabby says, "we had so much fun and I got to get closer with [Nick's] family."

Freshman Delylah Rodriguez has been boxing since middle school, and it has helped in many areas of her life. She says, "it makes me a stronger person and helps me with being confident in the other sports that I do and it has definitely helped me become a more outgoing person."

Senior Tyler Bigonzi just got a Tesla in May of last year, and he been enjoying it a lot. He has always been a fan of the car, and he says "I like the look of the car, having autopilot, the sound system is really good and the acceleration makes it fun to drive."

Junior Jette Schone recently moved to Florida from Germany as an exchange student. Leaving her family and friends was very hard, and she will miss the food a lot. She says, "Germany and the U.S. are not that different...so it wasn't that hard for me to adjust."

Marshall Garoutte, a senior in Sunlake's Soaring Sound, plays electric guitar along with the other percussion and guitar players. One thing he likes about the show this year is how it "has a lot of guitar parts and all of the little features for each section are very well written."
